The exhibition in the rooms of the Royal Palace of Gödöllő comprising the artworks of the Hungarian masters of the second half of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century could come to be by several collectors’ collaboration and cooperation. The presented period is the golden era of the Hungarian Painting, when, after Classicism and later Realistic arts (often combined with historical aspects), more progressive artworks, artists and groups- connected to European trends in so many cases- found new ways for themselves.
The collection starts with the artworks of Sr. Károly Markó, Miklós Barabás, Antal Ligeti, Bertalan Székely, Mihály Munkácsy, Pál Szinyei Merse, László Paál, and it closes with József Rippl-Rónai, Lajos Gulácsy, Károly Ferenczy, Csaba Vilmos Perlrott, Dezső Czigány, József Nemes Lampérth, György Fenyő, István ef Zámbó, László feLugossy, and János Aknay.
